Didem is a London based graphic designer who works on
publication, visual identity, typeface and web design projects.
She studied advertising in her hometown Istanbul before moving to London to attend the BA Graphic Design course at Central Saint Martins.
After graduating in 2008, she gained experience at Why Not Associates and Company. Currently, she is freelancing and working regularly with
Company on design projects.
In 2010, she set up TRUK with Ipek Altunmaral to work on design

Eyup Belediyesi (Eyup Municipality), Logo
2010 Proposal for a logo pitch to create the logo of Eyup Municipality, one of Istanbul's districts. The lettering of the logo reflects the historical monuments of the area - the Byzantian walls surrounding the district and the Eyup Sultan Mosque built in 1458 - both being the major distinctive structures of the area.
2010 Logo for an aviation company, Aero Teknoloji. An existing font was
customized to create the lettering of the logo which is inspired by the form of a plane's wings.

Company, 2009 Poster proposals for a series of themed events.
Greek Directors Guild, Book
Company, 2009 Five volume publication proposal which documents the organisation's annual conference scripts on various subjects such as lighting and production.
Individual volume covers are based on the typographic layout of the film script documents and are held together with a wrap-around band with the main title 'Facts'.

2007 Representation of the HTTP error codes using different typographic movements and styles.
Typefaces
Bodoni Sans Serif
2010 Sans serif version of the Bodoni typeface. The idea was to remove the serifs from the letters and make them rounded while keeping the essence of the original letters. The resulting typeface is characterised by its distinctive curves replacing the original serifs and strong contrasts in the stroke weight.
Siamese
2008
A font to create a consistent system of abbreviations across the digital media where character limit is vital. It automatically creates abbreviations as the user types by substituting ligatures for the most used pairs of letters in English.
Builder
2008 Final year project about typography and architecture at CSM. Builder is a modular typeface which includes deconstructed pieces of individual letters of four different typefaces: Garamond, Futura, Bodoni and Rockwell.
Zeybek
2008 An exploration into dance and typography.
Zeybek is a typeface inspired by the figures of a folk dance with the same name, a regional dance of the western Anatolia.
