Didem is a freelance designer based in London
who mainly works on visual identity, type and web design projects.
She graduated BA Graphic Design at Central Saint Martins in 2008 after studying Advertising at Bilgi University in Istanbul.
Since graduation, she has gained experience at Why Not Associates and later Company where she still works as a freelance designer.

Builder
Project about combining the architecture of slum settlements and typography.
Typecase includes deconstructed pieces of individual letters of 4 different typefaces.

A font which automatically substitutes ligatures for the most used pairs of letters in English.
Created to be used as a standard system of abbreviation in the digital environment.
Font based on Golden Type by William Morris.
Eleni Fotiadou website
Portfolio website for Greek artist Eleni Fotiadou whose works reflect a style of imperfection and viewer involvement.
Set on a simple layout, the navigation is based on a user-generated randomisation of typefaces to reflect Eleni's statement about her works.

The structure is meant to be organic and change shape as new connections are added.
Zeybek typeface
An exploration into dance and typography.
Zeybek is a typeface inspired by the figures of a folk dance with the same name, a regional dance of the western Anatolia.
Nimes Rew Toman
A modified version of Times New Roman.
Initially created to be used in the Builder project.

Information about their designs and uses in different languages are included in the books.

A representation of the online error codes using different typographic movements and styles.
Presented as a set of postcards.

Campaign for a D&AD brief.
The idea aims to create awareness of the waste produced in a product's lifetime through a journey in the human body.
Initially in the form of a shopping bag, the idea is also applied further as tags and stickers aiming at pre-purchase decisions.

Time in text
A project aiming to tell time through text.
Each letter was constructed in one minute, and represents one minute.
Reconstruction
A2 size revolving poster covered with velcro hooks.
The viewers were asked to contribute to the poster by using the pieces from the Builder project which were covered with the loops.
